Standing for Oklahoma Values

We have reached an important deadline at the Capitol, and the pace of our work has picked up considerably. This is the point in session when all bills from their chamber of origin must be heard on the floor in order to continue through the legislative process.

That has meant long days and late nights, but it is a necessary step to ensure each proposal is fully considered before advancing. Our process is designed to give legislation a thorough review. As we move into the next phase, we will begin hearing Senate bills that have made their way to the House. These measures will follow the same path, starting in policy committees, moving to oversight committees and, if approved, advancing to the House floor.

Last week, I had the wonderful opportunity to join Rep. Jim Shaw to speak with constituents at an event in Drumright about the rapid growth of data centers across our state. We had a strong turnout and, more importantly, thoughtful engagement from those in attendance.

Oklahomans are paying attention, and they want to voice their concerns. Conversations like these are critical as we work to balance economic development with protecting ratepayers and maintaining our infrastructure.

Even during a busy legislative schedule, staying connected to the district remains one of my top priorities. Over Spring Break, I spent time back home talking with constituents, listening to their concerns and hearing their stories. Those conversations matter and help guide my decisions and keep me grounded in the values of the people I represent. Now back at the Capitol, I carry those voices with me as we begin the second half of session.

I also enjoyed attending the Oklahoma Youth Expo, where I was paired with Raegan Miner from Perkins-Tyron FFA and her goat, Louie. It is always a highlight to see the hard work these young Oklahomans put into raising their animals. Their dedication and responsibility in what they do are a true reflection of the future of our state.

I also want you to know I remain committed to a principle that guides everything I do in public service. I do not accept lobbyist money or gifts. My responsibility is to the people of this district, not to special interests. That commitment ensures every vote I take is based on what is best for our communities and our state.

Please know I am here fighting for you, and it is an honor to do so. I will continue working every day to protect your rights. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to me!
