Here’s the statement from TFD:
It is with deep sadness that the Tulsa Fire Department confirms the loss of one of our own, who was involved in a fatal accident in Owasso on September 30, 2025.
This firefighter faithfully served the Tulsa community with courage, dedication, and compassion. He was not only a trusted colleague and respected leader, but also a beloved member of our fire family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and fellow firefighters during this difficult time. Out of respect for the family, additional details will not be released at this time. Funeral and memorial arrangements will be shared once they are finalized in coordination with his loved ones.
Police received the call about vehicles being on fire at 9:13 a.m. at the intersection of 116th and Garnett in Owasso.
According to Nick Boatman with the Owasso Police, the eastbound lanes came to a red light, and cars were stopped for the light. A truck came down the road at high speed and slammed into the stopped cars, causing a chain reaction of crashes and spilling fuel everywhere, which sparked the fire.
Boatman said surveillance video shows how the crash happened.
The intersection will be closed until further notice.
This is a developing story…
