West student to compete in state spelling bee

Alibek Chekirov, a 6th grader at West has qualified to compete in the state level competition of the National Geographic Bee, sponsored by Plum Creek.
The state Bee will be held on Friday, March 27, at the University of Oklahoma’s Oklahoma Memorial Union, 900 Asp Avenue in Norman.
Alibek won the local Geography Bee at West Middle School in January.
