The Oklahoma BASS Nation recently held its 2015 Oklahoma Bass State High School Championship at Lake Eufaula.

There were 15 teams from across Oklahoma on Lake Eufaula to fish for the championship. Teams fishing this event included: Broken Arrow High School, Central OKC Bass Club, Choctaw High School Bass Club, Crowder Angling Club, Eagle Anglers – Edison Prep High School, Eufaula Ironheads, Harrah High, Henrietta Bass Club, Little Axe Angling Club, Metro Christian Bass Club, two teams from the Mustang Broncos Bass Club, Ponca City Bass Club, Sand Springs Sandites, and Sapulpa Fishing Club.

After a tough day of fishing, the team of Trevor Owens and Matt Hasenfratz of the Ponca City Bass Club brought two fish to the scales that weighed 5.68 pounds and claimed the 2015 OBN State High School Championship.

This is Ponca City High School’s second State Championship victory in a row. They competed last year at Kentucky Lake in Tennessee.

The team from Ponca City will fish with the Oklahoma Bass Nation State Team competing in the Bass Nation Central Divisional on June 10-12 on Ross Barnett Reservoir in Jackson, Mississippi. The team also qualifies to attend the Bass Nation High School National Championship on July 22-25 on Kentucky Lake in Tennessee.
