This week we celebrate our 2022 Ponca City High School Homecoming. The Homecoming Court consists of a freshman, sophomore, and junior class attendant and three senior class queen candidates. The senior class has chosen the queen from among the senior queen candidates, and the winner will be announced during coronation before the varsity football game on Friday night.
Ja’Kiya Colbert has been elected as the freshman attendant. She is the daughter of Gary and Diana Barnett. Ja’Kiya is a member of the Po-Hi softball and basketball teams. Ja’Kiya is escorted by Lance Lieb, son of Tony and Amy Arbona . Lance is a member of the Wildcat football team as well as the wrestling and baseball teams. Presenting flowers to Ja’Kiya is London Pettigrew. London is the daughter of Victoria and Jason Pettigrew. London is a Student Council representative and a member of the Po Hi-Steppers and Po-Hi golf team.
Katelyn Clark is this year’s sophomore attendant. Katelyn is the daughter of Lynna and Jeff Clark. She is a member of the Po Hi-Steppers, varsity golf team and a member of St. Luke’s Youth Group. Escorting Katelyn is Aidan Landes, son of Wendy Landes and Chris Landes. AJ is a member of the Wildcat football team as well as the basketball and baseball teams. Presenting flowers to Katelyn is Kaylee Gibson. Kaylee is the daughter of Robert and Tina Gibson. She is the Sophomore Class President and a member of the Ladycat wrestling team.
The junior attendant is Viktoriya Maier, daughter of Angela Kim and Yuriy Maier. Viktoriya is a member of the Wildcat marching band, a Student Council representative and a member of Key Club. Junior Cooper Leonard is Viktoriya’s escort. Cooper is the son of Allyson and Jake Leonard. He is the Junior Class Vice President, a member of the Po-Hi Symphonic Orchestra and a Student Council representative. Presenting flowers to Viktoriya is Lanie George. Lanie is the daughter of Jason and Lori George. She is a member of the FFA, the varsity Lady Cat basketball team and a Student Council representative.
The 2022 Queen Candidates are Lexie Huster, Karlie Irwin and Amani Owdetallah.
Lexie is the daughter of Amie and Justin Huster. She is the Hi-Stepper Captain, a member of the varsity tennis team and St. Luke’s Youth Group. After graduation, Lexie plans to attend Oklahoma State University to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering and a minor in petroleum engineering. Escorting Lexie is senior Cayden Andersen. Cayden is the son of Wayne and Aubrey Andersen. He is a Student Council representative, a two-time All District soccer player and is on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll. After graduation, Cayden plans to go to college to play soccer and study mechanical engineering. Presenting flowers to Lexie is Kendra Stolhand. Kendra is the daughter of Rick and Sunie Stolhand. She is the Senior Class Vice President, a member of the National Honor Society and a four year member of the Po-Hi Chorale. After graduation, Kendra plans to attend Oklahoma University’s Gaylord College of Journalism to major in creative media production and advertising.
Queen Candidate Karlie Irwin is the daughter of Roger and Heather Irwin. She is a member of Po-Hi Symphony Strings, the National Honor Society and Po-Hi Chorale. Karlie’s future plans are to attend Northern Oklahoma College and then Oklahoma State to pursue a bachelor’s degree in music education. Escorting Karlie is senior Jace Schneeberger, son of Jerome and Haley Scheeberger. Jace is a member of the Po-Hi varsity football and track teams and is a member of FFA. After graduation, Jace plans to attend college to study agriculture business. Presenting flowers to Karlie is senior XaraPaz Robertson. XaraPaz is the daughter of Xenia and Vernon Robertson. She is the Senior Class Secretary, a member of the Ladycat Tennis Team and a member of the Po-Hi Chorale. After graduation, Xara plans to attend the University of North Texas.
Queen Candidate Amanie Owdetallah is the daughter of Michelle and Sam Owdetallah. Amanie is the Vice President of Po-Hi Business Professionals of America, a proud member of the National Honor Society and is an intern at the Northern Oklahoma Humane Society. Amanie’s post high school plans are to attend Northern Oklahoma Nursing College, then further her education at Oklahoma State University and become either a psychiatric or ER nurse. Escorting Amanie is senior Malachi Johnson, son of Bridget Kreisel and Joseph Johnson. Malachi is a member of the Wildcat varsity football and soccer teams and attends St. Luke’s Youth Group. After graduation, Malachi plans to attend Oklahoma State University. Presenting flowers to Amanie is Emma Gertken, daughter of Adam and Felicia Gertken. Emma is a member of the varsity basketball team and Student Council and attends St. Luke’s and Pioneer Bible youth groups. Emma’s plans after high school include obtaining a degree in biochemistry then going to medical school.
Senior Laney Reynolds will be presenting the Queen’s bouquet. Laney is the daughter of Tisha and John Reynolds. Laney is the senior class President, a member of the Po-Hi varsity soccer and tennis teams and a member of National Honor Society. Laney’s plans after high school are to attend Oklahoma State University to major in industrial engineering. Presenting the Queen’s sash will be senior Kate Branstetter. Kate is the daughter of Rex and Wendy Branstetter. Kate is the Student Council President, Po-Hi Stepper Lieutenant and is a member of St. Luke’s Youth Group. After graduation Kate plans to pursue a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders in order to become a Pediatric Speech Pathologist.
Luke Hollis, son of Kirk and Kim Hollis, will be crowning one of the queen candidates as the 2022 Homecoming Queen. Luke is the Po-Hi Student Council Vice President, a member of the Po-Hi golf and basketball teams as well as a member of the National Honor Society. Luke plans to attend Harding University after graduation to focus on either business, sports management or physical therapy.
PCPS Student Council Advisor and Homecoming Sponsor Molly Carter said, “The beautiful flowers that will be presented to the Homecoming Court were provided by Grand Flowers and Gifts. We would like to thank the Po-Hi Steppers, the Marching Wildcats, and the Po-Hi Cheerleaders for assisting with the Homecoming ceremony. Thanks to all the students, faculty and parents who help make our Homecoming week such a success!”
The Homecoming ceremony will be under the direction of Molly Carter and Kwanza Bohnert, Student Council Advisors.
