Brenda Evers Andrew received a temporary stay of execution from the U.S. Supreme Court in 2025 in a 7-2 decision. In January of 2026, a federal appeals court unanimously upheld her conviction, saying the evidence against her was overwhelming.

Richard Glossip was convicted of first-degree murder in 1997 after Justin Sneed, a hotel maintenance worker, killed Glossip’s boss, Barry Van Treese. Sneed testified in 2004 that Glossip hired him to kill Van Treese because Glossip was committing embezzlement.
In 2025, after 27 years on death row, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-3 that Glossip did not receive a fair trial, citing prosecutors’ failure to correct false testimony and other issues involving evidence and witness statements.”
