Owasso young actor lands major movie role
An Owasso actor is taking another big step in his acting career after landing a role in the upcoming thriller Don’t Move.
Patrick, who has also appeared on Abbott Elementary, said his journey into acting began with modeling before he realized performing was his true passion.
Patrick said he was inspired by some of Hollywood’s biggest action movies growing up.
“I love to watch The Avengers, Top Gun: Maverick, even Black Panther. And I was like, ‘I want to be just like them.’ So I tried as hard as I could, and I’m still trying.”
His latest project, Don’t Move, marks the first horror film of his career and one of his biggest acting opportunities to date. Patrick said he spent about two weeks filming and enjoyed every moment on set.
“The experience was very good,” Patrick said. “I liked how they filmed it in a forest. I even got my own trailer. It was awesome. The people were nice.”
Although horror movies can be intimidating, Patrick said seeing early edits of the film briefly made the experience feel a little too real.
“At first I thought it was going to be really scary because of the edits they showed me,” he said. “I was like, ‘Okay, this thing is actually going to come get me.’ But then I realized it’s just acting.”
Patrick said he’s proud to represent Oklahoma as his acting career continues to grow.
“I think it’s really cool because it’s such a blessing to do this,” he said. “It’s just really fun for me.”
He already has two additional projects in development, including The Wrong Decision Part Two, and says he’s excited for what’s next.
But despite his growing résumé, Patrick says his biggest dream is still ahead of him.
“My end goal is to one day either be on The Avengers or become the new Black Panther,” he said.
