Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management urges Oklahomans to stay weather aware Monday

The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management is reminding Oklahomans to stay weather aware on Monday.

Oklahoma is facing multiple hazards on Monday, including severe weather, wildfire risks, and wind advisories.

Most of Oklahoma has some level of severe weather risk with baseball-sized hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes all possible in the forecast.

Threat for severe weather continues Monday and Tuesday

The State Emergency Operations Center has been activated due to ongoing wildfire conditions in the western part of the state.

Firefighters are continuing to work on ongoing fires in Beaver and Cimarron counties, according to Oklahoma Forestry Services. OEM said for Oklahoma residents seeking non-emergency disaster or health and human service information, to please contact 211 and only contact 911 in case of an emergency.

The National Weather Service has also issued a wind advisory until 10 p.m. Monday for parts of northern, central, and western Oklahoma.
