WAGONER, Okla –
A Wisconsin woman is back in Oklahoma Monday night to face her murder charges from nearly 6 years ago.
Murder charges
Wagoner County prosecutors charged Kore Bommeli in 2021 with killing her roommate, Talina Galloway, then cutting her body up and dumping her in Arkansas.
Uncovering another crime
During the murder investigation in Wagoner County, investigators found evidence that linked Bommeli to a 2014 case in Wisconsin, where she tried to kill her neighbors using homemade ricin. She was convicted of those crimes last summer and sentenced to 25 years.
News On 6 got video of Wagoner County deputies bringing Bommeli back to the Wagoner County Jail on Monday.
Deputies picked her up on Monday morning and drove more than 14 hours to bring her back to face her murder charges.
“My attorney will be ready to make comments to you tomorrow if you come to court,” said Kore Bommeli.
Missing person’s case to a homicide case
Bommeli reported her roommate, Talina Galloway, missing in April of 2020.
Galloway was found dismembered, in a freezer, eight months later, in a rural area in Arkansas.
As part of the agreement to bring Bommeli back to Oklahoma from Wisconsin, prosecutors here only have six months to take her case to trial.
Wagoner County Sheriff Chris Elliot says this case is one of the most unusual he’s ever been a part of, and it’s time Galloway and her family get justice.
“I’ve been in law enforcement now for almost 40 years, and these are, these are a once-in-a-lifetime case. I’m looking forward to bringing justice. That’s what I’m looking for. Don’t make any difference to me how long we have to work it, as long as we’re making progress and we get justice for the victim,” he said.
Bommeli is also charged with desecration of a human body, two counts of having a firearm as a felon, pattern of criminal offenses, bogus checks, embezzlement, unauthorized use of a credit card, destroying evidence, and five counts of obstructing an officer.
What’s next
She will be back in court for the first time on Tuesday.
