A Jenks man’s morning routine turned into a multimillion-dollar surprise after he discovered he had won $5 million playing the Oklahoma Lottery’s Mega Millions.

Matthew of Jenks learned he won $5 million after checking his ticket the morning of Feb. 25, 2026, using the Oklahoma Lottery ticket checker.

He had purchased the Mega Millions ticket for last night’s draw at QuikTrip, 903 E. Trudgeon St. in Henryetta.

When he scanned the ticket, the message on the screen read, “You won $5 million!”

After seeing the result, Matthew went home to tell his wife he was heading to Oklahoma City to claim the winning ticket.

He said he does not have any major plans for the prize and is focused on investing his winnings wisely.

“Moments like this are exactly why we love what we do,” said Abby Morgan, director of marketing and product development for the Oklahoma Lottery. “Matthew’s story is such a great reminder that you never know when a simple decision can completely change your life.”

The Oklahoma Lottery said Matthew is the 95th million-dollar winner in its history.
