OKLAHOMA CITY – Carson Whitsitt, a senior at Blackwell High School, paged for Rep. John Pfeiffer, R-Orland, from Feb. 9-12 at the Oklahoma State Capitol.

Carson is the son of Courtney Driskill.

During their week at the Capitol, House pages work in their representative’s office and have the opportunity to attend sessions on the House floor and committee meetings. They also take part in a mock legislative session with peers from across the state in which they write, present, debate and vote on their own legislation.

Carson’s academic achievements include having a 4.0 grade point average, being a member of both the Oklahoma and the National Honor Society, placing first in the Ag II Interscholastic competition and fourth in chemistry at Northern Oklahoma College. He’s also on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.

Extra-curricular activities include serving as captain of his school’s academic team and as the president of the Blackwell FFA as well as executive president of the Blackwell Student Council.

After high school, Carson hopes to attend Oklahoma State University before pursuing a career in mechanical engineering.

“Carson is obviously a very bright and talented young man with a great future ahead of him,” Pfeiffer said. “It was nice to be able to show him a bit of the legislative process and hopefully spark an interest in state government. I wish him success in his future. His family, school and community should be very proud.”
