Police identified the suspect as Landon McCullah, who is charged with Murder in the first degree (death of a child by injuring, torturing, or maiming).
According to a probable cause affidavit, officers were called around Oct. 28, 2025, to an apartment near 7100 S. Erie Avenue for a report of an infant who was not breathing and in cardiac arrest.
What investigators say happened
Doctors at the hospital revived the baby, who was placed in the pediatric intensive care unit in critical condition. The affidavit states the infant had several broken ribs, bilateral retinal bleeding, a swollen brain, and bruises on the face, back, hips, neck, arms, and legs, along with human bite marks.
The doctors told investigators the broken ribs were consistent with abuse, not CPR.
What McCullah told the police
A child crisis detective interviewed McCullah, who was the baby’s primary caregiver and had been alone with the child in the 24 hours before the 911 call.
Investigators stated that McCullah provided multiple and conflicting accounts of what happened. He reportedly told police the bite mark on the baby’s shoulder occurred when he used his teeth to hold the baby in place while swaddling with a blanket. Detectives noted that others also reported McCullah gave differing explanations for the child’s injuries.
The affidavit says the baby was declared brain-dead on Oct. 30 and was removed from life support on Oct. 31.
The arrest
Police arrested McCullah on Thursday, following the baby’s funeral. Investigators said he no longer had an apartment, job, or cell phone and was considered a flight risk. His bond was set at $5 million. He was booked into the Tulsa County jail on Thursday afternoon.
