OG&E customers could see a rise in the cost of their electricity, as the company requests additional generators to keep up with demand.

The electric company has asked the Oklahoma Corporation Commission to approve two additional natural gas combustion power generators.

OG&E says the units will help keep up with the growing demand for electrical power.

If approved, however, residential customers could see a 60-cent increase in the cost of their utility bills in 2026.

The price hike comes after a previous increase was announced earlier this year.

However, the company says this hike will be a staggered increase, meaning that by 2031, the cost will jump by almost $5 a month.
