2023 Po-Hi Homecoming Court Announced

This week we celebrate our 2023 Ponca City High School Homecoming. The Homecoming Court consists of a freshman, a sophomore, and a junior class attendant and three senior class queen candidates. The senior class has chosen the queen from among the senior queen candidates, and the winner will be announced during coronation before the varsity football game on Friday night.
Gwyneth Goddard has been elected as the freshman attendant. She is the daughter of Haley and Bobby Goddard. Gwyneth is a member of the Po-Hi cheer squad as well as the volleyball and track teams. Gwyneth is escorted by Alejandro Perez, son of Tara and Vincent Perez. Alejandro is a member of the Wildcat football, basketball and soccer teams. Presenting flowers to Gwyneth is Natalia Good. Natalia is the daughter of Mike Good and Sylvia Chavana.Natalia is a member of the Po-Hi Lady Cats basketball team, a member of the Pepperettes and an honor roll student.
Darcy Hinterreiter is this year’s sophomore attendant. Darcy is the daughter of Jennie and Matthew Hinterreiter. She is a member of the Po-Hi volleyball and tennis teams and a Student Council representative. Escorting Darcy is Adriel Miller, son of Cameron and Lily Moore. Adriel is a member of the Wildcat football and basketball teams and enjoys playing pickleball. Presenting flowers to Darcy is Taylor Otto. Taylor is the daughter of Bonnie and Chad Otto. She is a member of the volleyball and tennis teams and a member of Ponca City FFA.
The junior attendant is Allison Edwards, daughter of Mitzi Pemberton and Eric Edwards. Allison is a member of the Po Hi-Steppers, a Student Council representative and co-captain of the Po Hi Varsity Volleyball team. Junior Hayden LeClair is Allison’s escort. Hayden is the son of Big Joe and Tiffanie LeClair. He is a member of the varsity football and baseball teams and enjoys spending time with his family. Presenting flowers to Allison is Natalie Mayer. Natalie is the daughter of Tanya Mayer and Vitaly Shevkunov. She is a member of the Po Hi-Steppers, Student Athlete Advisory Council and the volleyball team.
The 2023 Queen Candidates are Lanie George, Jaclynn Heitman and Lorin Scott. Lanie is the daughter of Jason and Lori George. She is the Senior Class President, President of Ponca City FFA and Historian of National Honor Society. After graduation, Lanie plans to attend nursing school. Escorting Lanie is senior Tanner Otto. Tanner is the son of Chad and Bonnie Otto. He is a member of the National Honor Society and Ponca City FFA. After graduation, Tanner plans to go to West Texas A&M to earn a bachelor’s degree in animal science. Presenting flowers to Lanie is Madelyn Blackstar. Madelyn is the daughter of Holly and Olly Blackstar. She is a Po Hi-Stepper lieutenant, a member of the National Honor Society and a Student Council representative. After graduation, Madelyn plans to attend a university in Oklahoma to obtain a nursing degree.
Queen candidate Jaclynn Heitman is the daughter of Jason and Jennifer Heitman. She is a Po Hi-Stepper Lieutenant, a Student Council representative and a member of the Po-Hi Chorale and First Lutheran Youth group. Jaclynn’s future plans are to attend Northern Oklahoma College and then a larger university to become a Director of Christian Education. Escorting Jaclynn is senior Darwyn Foster, son of Tammy and Douglas Foster. Darwyn is a member of the Po-Hi varsity football team and Po-Hi orchestra as well as a Student Council representative. After graduation, Darwyn plans to attend college. Presenting flowers to Jaclynn is senior Paetyn Badley. Paetyn is the daughter of Casey and Heather Badley. She is a Po Hi-Stepper Lieutenant and a member of the Student Council and National Honor Society. After graduation, Paetyn plans to attend Oklahoma State University and study dental hygiene.
Queen Candidate Lorin Scott is the daughter of Robert and Amber Scott. Lorin is the captain of the Po Hi-Steppers and cross-country team, Vice President of Student Council, Business Professionals of America and National Honor Society and an active officer in the Student Athlete Advisory Council and the Wildcat Theatre Company. Lorin’s post high school plans are to attend Oklahoma State University to major in psychology. Escorting Lorin is senior Julian Estrada, son of Krystal Veloz and Julio Estrada. Julian is a drum major for the Ponca City High School Band, a member of the Ponca City Symphony Orchestra and was awarded the Louis Armstrong Outstanding Jazz Musician Award. After graduation, Julian plans to attend college to earn a degree in music education. Presenting flowers to Lorin is Abbigail Lawson, daughter of Kristan and Jason Lawson. Abbigail is a member of the Po-Hi marching band, Student Council, Key Club and Wildcat Theatre Company. Abbigail’s plans after high school are to attend the University of Oklahoma.
Senior Sarah Dingus will be presenting the Queen’s bouquet. Sarah is the daughter of Roy and Alaina Dingus. Sarah is on the varsity swim team, a member of the symphony orchestra and a Student Council representative. Sarah’s plans after high school are to attend Oklahoma State University to major in pre-veterinary studies then continue on to veterinary school. Presenting the Queen’s sash will be senior Ava Wilson. Ava is the daughter of Cliff and Melissa Wilson. Ava is a member of the Po Hi-Steppers, Student Athlete Advisory Council, Youth Traffic Court, A.I.M. Dance Studio Competition Team and a Student Council representative. After graduation Ava plans to attend Northern Oklahoma College and major in Early Elementary Education.
Bo Kyler, son of Paul and Molly Kyler, will be crowning one of the queen candidates as the 2023 Homecoming Queen. Bo is the Po-Hi Student Council President, a member of the varsity football team and a member of the National Honor Society. Bo plans to attend college after graduation.
PCPS Student Council Advisor and Homecoming Sponsor Molly Carter said, “The beautiful flowers that will be presented to the Homecoming Court were provided by Grand Flowers and Gifts. We would like to thank the Po-Hi Steppers, the Marching Wildcats, and the Po-Hi Cheerleaders for assisting with the Homecoming ceremony. Thanks to all the students, faculty and parents who help make our Homecoming week such a success!”
The Homecoming ceremony will be under the direction of Molly Carter and Jade George, Student Council advisors.
