Worst Week For Sun Glare

Ponca City Now - October 3, 2013 8:55 am

You’re going to want to make sure you have your sunglasses before you leave the house this week.

We’ve been experiencing the highest amount of sun glare.

Paula Cain with emergency management said it’s because the equinox and were the sun is aligned.

“The sun is moving directly east from west and that causes worse glare, than when it is offset a little bit,” Cain said.

During an equinox we have exactly 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night.

Cain says make sure your windshields are cleaned on the inside and out.

Also, drive with your headlights on so oncoming traffic can see you.

The sun is now moving its way south, so the glare should be better by the first of next week.
