Woman dies in city house fire

UPDATE: Ponca City Police have identified the victim of this morning’s house fire as 81-year-old Sue Baker.


 

Ponca City police, fire and ambulance crews responded to a report of a house fire in the 1700 block of Richway Wednesday morning.

An elderly woman in the home was transported to Alliance Health Ponca City, where she was pronounced dead.

The initial call at 9:54 a.m.  reported fumes inside the home, and within a minute another call was received reporting the home was on fire.

A representative of the State Fire Marshal’s Office is responding to determine the cause of the fire.

No other details are available at this time.
