Woman dies in accident on Hartford Avenue

A fatal accident Tuesday afternoon claimed the life of 77-year-old Harriett Ann Hardy of Ponca City.
Hardy was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Spark east on Hartford west of Waverly Street. The investigation by Ponca City Police Department showed Hardy went left of center into the oncoming path of a semi driven by 49-year-old Steven Duncan of Tipton, Iowa.
The semi was a 2015 lease cab from Penske Rental. The trailer was owned by the JM Swank Company, a food ingredient distributor out of Dallas, Texas.
Hardy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hartford between Waverly and Ash Streets was closed for several hours.
