Woman dies after driving around barricade near Perkins

PERKINS (AP) — A woman died Tuesday afternoon just outside Perkins in Payne County when she drove around a high water sign.

Her car wouond up in water that was across the road; the water carried the vehicle off the east side of the roadway.

The car became submerged in about 10 feet of water and the woman was submerged for about 45 minutes before being recovered by the Stillwater Fire Department. Her name and age remain unknown while the Highway Patrol continues its investigation.
