Winter Storm Warning Issued for Much of Oklahoma; Includes Kay County

Ponca City-

The winter storm watch for our area has been upgraded to a winter storm warning in effect from 6 pm Tuesday to 9 pm Thursday.

Snow totals of 3-5” with locally higher amounts are possible along with significant icing, especially south and east of OKC metro.

Winter Storm Safety tips include: checking your preparedness kit and replenishing items as needed, preparing for power outages; stocking flashlights, batteries and non-perishable foods, winterizing your vehicle and having a preparedness kit inside, and checking pipes to keep them from freezing.
