OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – Videos released by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol show state troopers exchanging gunfire with the subject of a statewide manhunt while both vehicles were speeding down a rural western Oklahoma roadway.

Videos from two dashboard-mounted cameras in patrol cars and from a helicopter released Tuesday show a gun battle between troopers and 38-year-old Michael Vance, who was wanted in a series of violent crimes across the state. Vance was killed in the shootout Sunday night near the town of Leedey.

One of the videos shows a trooper firing his automatic assault rifle through the windshield of his patrol cruiser while he was chasing Vance, who was returning fire during the chase.

At one point, Vance exited the truck he was driving and used it as cover while firing at officers.
