Two pickup trucks collided at 1:49 p.m. Tuesday on the Cimarron Turnpike at mile marker 10, which is five miles south and four miles west of the Red Rock city limits in Noble County.

A 2015 Chevrolet pickup driven by Michael Stowe, 21, of Grapevine, Texas, collided with a 2006 Chevrolet pickup driven by Julia Betts, 51, of Mt. Ida, Ark.

Neither Stowe nor his passenger, Casey House, 24, of Arlington, Texas, were injured.

Betts was transported by ambulance to Stillwater Medical Center then transferred to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City in stable condition with head, arm, internal and external trunk injuries.

One passenger in Betts’ truck, 19-year-old Tyler Betts of Mt. Ida, was transported by ambulance to Stillwater Medical Center, treated and released. A 52-year-old passenger was not injured.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Stowe’s truck was westbound in the outside lane and attempted to make a U-turn in front of Betts’ truck, which was westbound in the inside lane. Stowe’s truck was struck on the driver’s side rear.

Both vehicles were equipped with seat belts. One passenger in Betts’ truck was not wearing a seat belt. Air bags deployed in both trucks, the Highway Patrol reported.
