Two Runners Qualify for State Meet

Two members of the Ponca City cross country team have qualified for the upcoming Class 6A state track meet.
Mason Blochowiak and Burton Miner both earned spots in the state meet by finishing 10 and 26th place in last weekend’s Class 6A East Regional held in Owasso.
The Wildcat boys team finished in eighth place and the girls team was 15th in the 5K competition.
Blochowiak’s time was 16:55.83 and Miner’s time was 17:38.88. The individual winner was Kegan Thomas of Stillwater with a time of 15:39.18.
Other Ponca City runners in the boys event included Andrew Mitchell, 40th, Chase Allensworth, 71st, Joel Menchaca, 74th, Ryan Sylestine, 87th and Jack Busch, 97th.
Individual results on the girls side from Ponca City included Kennedy Brown, 68th, Emma Steichen, 75th, Lorin Scott, 80th, Regan Loney, 97th, Ryanna Sylestine, 98th, Lindsey Alvarez, 99th and Annie Leaming, 100th.
The state track meet will be held on Oct. 30 in Edmond.
