NORMAN, Okla. (AP) – A woman and a girl are dead and a second girl is seriously injured after a car crashed into a ditch in Cleveland County.

Authorities responded to reports of an accident about 10 a.m. Monday after the wreckage was spotted by local residents.

Officers found a woman and a girl dead inside the vehicle. A second 9-year-old girl was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. Her condition has not immediately released.

Officials say Oklahoma City police were dispatched to the area on Sunday night after residents reported hearing something that sounded like an accident. But officers were unable to find anything because the vehicle was off the road and in the trees.

Neither the victims of the crash nor the survivor have been identified.
