CLAREMORE, Okla. (AP) – Oklahoma authorities say two men have been arrested on complaints including first-degree murder and robbery in connection to the death of another man who was allegedly killed with a sword.

The Tulsa World reports that Claremore police have arrested 53-year-old Michael Eugene Spears on complaints of first-degree murder and robbery. He’s accused in the death of 51-year-old Mark McKinney.

Authorities say 49-year-old Larry Gene McCoy Sr. has also been arrested on robbery complaints. He’s accused of taking items from McKinney’s body after his death.

Investigators say McKinney was visiting Spears’ residence when an altercation ensued that resulted in his death. McKinney’s remains were discovered Sunday morning after officers were dispatched for a well-being check.

Police say the cause and manner of the death will be officially determined by a medical examiner. An investigation of the death is ongoing.
