Tulsa man drowns in Fort Gibson Lake

FORT GIBSON, Okla. (AP) – A Tulsa man has drowned in Fort Gibson Lake after going under water and never resurfacing.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the body of 38-year-old David Villicana-Lopez was recovered around 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Authorities say Villicana-Lopez jumped off a boat and into the lake shortly before 8 p.m. the day before.

According to troopers, witnesses say they saw the man struggle in the water, but attempts to rescue him were unsuccessful.
