TU Hosting Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Alice Cooper Concert on Campus

The University of Tulsa and Oak View Group are preparing for a concert featuring 1980s rock bands Def Leppard and Motley Crue, with special guest Alice Cooper, on Wednesday, Aug. 16, at H.A. Chapman Stadium, which is located at 3112 E. 8th St. The concert is produced by Live Nation.

A limited number of tickets are still available and concertgoers are highly encouraged to reserve parking spaces on campus near the venue. Concert tickets may be purchased at Ticketmaster and parking passes may be purchased at ParkWhiz. Free offsite parking is available at OSU-Tulsa, 700 N. Greenwood Ave., and includes a free shuttle ride to Chapman Stadium.

TU campus parking lots open to the public at 2 p.m. on Wednesday and drivers should enter campus from South Harvard Avenue or South Delaware Avenue. The stadium gates will open at 3:45 p.m. and walk-through metal detectors will be used, and a clear bag policy will be enforced. Backpacks and bags larger than 6”x6”x12” are prohibited.

A DJ will entertain guests until the concert begins at 5:45 p.m. when Cooper takes the stage followed by Motley Crue and Def Leppard.

Cash will not be accepted at concession stands throughout the venue, so attendees should plan to use credit/debit cards or other forms of electronic payment. Cooling stations will be available in the Reynolds Center arena adjacent to the stadium.

The concert is the first in Chapman Stadium since 1990 when New Kids on the Block drew 40,000 fans to the football stadium.
