Transportation officials warn of slick roads in Panhandle

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – Oklahoma transportation officials are cautioning against traveling in parts of the Panhandle as wintry conditions make driving more dangerous.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation said Sunday afternoon that highways are snow-packed and icy and visibility is low in Cimarron County.
The agency also says U.S. 287 was closed between the Texas and Colorado borders and road conditions remained slick in other parts of the Panhandle as crews treat highways and bridges.
The agency says if travel is necessary, drivers should use caution on bridges, overpasses and when entering or exiting highways.
