Tonkawa, Newkirk voters approve propositions

Voters in Tonkawa and Newkirk went to the polls Tuesday to decide two local issues.

Tonkawa voters approved a sales tax proposition with a total of 196 yes votes to 132 no votes.

Newkirk voters approved a proposition for Newkirk Public Schools by a vote of 119 yes votes to 47 no votes. The proposition was for a $275,000 bond to pay for buses.
