Today’s closings

Ponca City Now - February 16, 2015 8:49 am

Due to inclement weather, the following closings have been announced. The list will be updated as necessary.

NOC campuses will start at 10 a.m. today (Monday, Feb. 16, 2015).

Tonkawa Public School District is closed today due to weather.

Blackwell Public Schools are closed today.

Newkirk Public Schools are closed today.

Frontier Public Schools in Red Rock are closed.

Ponca City Public Schools already were scheduled to be closed today.

Oklahoma State University has delayed opening untiil noon today. Classes will begin at 12:30 p.m.


The Ponca City Art Center will not being holding the Art Academy Edible Art Class scheduled for today at 3:45pm due to the weather.


The Oklahoma State University Stillwater campus will close for the remainder of the day due to difficulties in clearing icy conditions on campus. All remaining classes are canceled for today. The Cirque Zuma Zuma event will still be held. For additional information on other campus events, please contact the event organizer.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has discouraged unnecessary travel while work crews clear roads and highways. The National Weather Service on Monday said a winter weather advisory is in effect until 9 a.m.

Forecasters say light snow and freezing rain is projected fo fall across northern, western, central and southern Oklahoma. The department says hazardous conditions have been reported statewide.

Workers in the Oklahoma City and Tulsa areas have reported slick and dangerous conditions on bridges and overpasses.
