The 22nd Annual Standing Bear Pow Wow is today and Saturday, all day, in the Standing Bear Native American Park. Gourd dancing begins at 5 p.m. today with the Grand Entry at 7 p.m. On Saturday, gourd dancing begins at 1 p.m. with the Grand Entry at 7 p.m. Contest and intertribal dancing continues through both evenings and there will be food vendors both days as well as arts and craft vendors. Admission and parking are free.

Ponca City High School’s Homecoming is tonight with a football game against Tulsa’s Booker T. Washington High School. The Po Hi-Steppers Booster Club serves its annual pre-game Homecoming funderaiser dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Po-Hi Commons and crowning of the Homecoming royalty will be before the start of the game.

"Always a Bridesmaid" Presented by the Ponca Playhouse, finishes its run this weekend. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Playhouse, 301 South First Street. The box office is open 30 minutes before each performance.

Pars for Pets, a golf tournament at Lew Wentz Golf Course, is Saturday. Lunch is at noon and tee time is 1 p.m. Entries are still being accepted. This is a fundraiser for the Ponca City Humane Society.

Carter’s Run 2015 starts at 7 a.m. Saturday with packet pickup. A 1-mile fun run-walk starts at 8 a.m. and then the 5k and 10k run starts at 8:30 a.m., all at the Lake Ponca Swim Beach. The event raises money for autism awareness.

A Family Fun Walk is set for all ages from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hutchins Memorial Walking trail. Contact Chera Brewer at Albright United Methodist Church at 580-765-6432 for more information.

A Public lecture with Dr. Sara Richter on the Bold, Brazen and Beautiful: Non-Traditional Women of the American West, will be presented at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Pioneer Woman Museum. Admission is by donation.

The Drug Take-Back will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the west drive of the Ponca City Police Department, 200 East Oklahoma Avenue. Patrol Captain Earl Watkins and other volunteers will be set up to collect any unwanted, unused prescription medication for proper disposal.

And the Return of The Poncan Opry – With Dale Eisenhauer, is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in The Poncan Theatre. Tickets are $10 at the theater box office.
