Kay County sees decrease in population

Following the 2020 U.S. Census, Kay County's population has dropped by 6.1%. The county lost more than 2,800 residents over the last decade. Kay County Sheriff’s Office assist OHP Wednesday near Kaw City

The Kay County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Wednesday with an oversized load that struck a power line on Coleman Road, approximately 1/2 mile west of Kaw City. Kay Electric later arrived in the area and custokmers did experience power outage. The section of Coleman Road reopened Wednesday evening. No injuries were reported.
