Students qualify for annual Red Carpet Honor Bands

Ponca City West and East Middle School announce that several student musicians have qualified to represent Ponca City in the 25 ^th Annual Red Carpet Honor Bands on Saturday, Jan. 16 at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva.

By competing against students from all of Northwest Oklahoma, students were selected in a “blind” audition by area band directors for a coveted position in one of three honor bands.

The audition included five major scales, the chromatic scale, a prepared piece and an excerpt performed at sight. The band members who qualified include:
