Student art show opens

Ponca City Now - March 9, 2015 12:11 pm

The Ponca City Art Center opened up this year’s Elementary and Middle School Art Show with a reception honoring the young artists on Sunday, March ?8.

More than 200 people attended the reception. The show is open to all elementary and middle school students in area schools. Home schooled children are also eligible to participate. Participating schools and art instructors this year were:

Trout/Liberty – Alisa Becker

Union/Garfield – Dana Love

West Middle School – Mindy LittleCook

Lincoln – Jan Wooten

Woodlands – Leslie Bintz

Ponca City Christian Academy – Clyde Otipoby

Kildare Elementary – Deena Lorett

Art instructors must label and hang artwork themselves in order to submit art work, which can be a laborious and time-consuming task.

Participation is not required, and the Ponca City Art Center would like thank all the art instructors who put in the extra time and effort to be sure their students’ art work was included in this year’s show.

The Elementary and Middle School Art Show can be viewed during regular gallery hours from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday through March 28.
