Stillwater Police Investigating Crash Involving Payne County Deputy

STILLWATER, Oklahoma – 

Stillwater police are investigating after a Payne County Deputy cruiser was hit while responding to a crash on Monday.

According to police, a call came in just after 4:30 p.m. about a crash in the area of 6th Street and Perkins Road.

The deputy was on his way to assist in a crash at SH 51 and Prairie Road. He was travelling eastbound on SH 51 when he approached Perkins Road. As he crossed the intersection, a pickup truck travelling northbound hit the deputy. The deputy had his lights and sirens on.

The man driving the truck was taken to Stillwater Medical Center with minor injuries. The deputy was treated on scene.
