The Ponca City Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the Administration Center Board Room.

The agenda includes calling an executive session to discuss the resignation or retirement of Superintendent Dr. David Pennington.

After returning to open session, the board will vote to approve or not approve his resignation or retirement.

That will be followed by a discussion and possible board action to establish a process to conduct a search for a new superintendent.

A copy of the agenda is on the district website, www.pcps.us, under the Board of Education Meetings and Agendas link.
