South Carolina playing for College World Series spot

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – South Carolina has gone from wondering about its postseason chances to playing for a spot in the College World Series.

The Gamecocks were just 20-17 in mid-April before coach Mark Kingston says his players got back to basics to spark a second-half turnaround that landed them in the NCAA Tournament.

South Carolina will face Arkansas in the best-of-three super regional series for a chance to get back to Omaha.
