Skate World Closes

Ponca City Now - September 23, 2013 9:34 am

Skate World kept many kids active in the community, and Richard and Victoria Clemons are sad to announce its closed.

Victoria said it was just time.

“And the hard thing is there are a lot kids that we grew to love," Victorial Clemons said. "Some of them have been here the whole 7 years, it’s like I said these ones came with the rink.”

Richard said he shared nicknames and jokes with the kids.

And although the couple had the rink on the market they were still shocked when it sold.

“We just didn’t really anticipate it not really being a rink, so were sad too," Richard Clemons said. "My sign out here says closed, you kids will be missed, we love you.”

The rinks last skate was Friday evening and it’s now becoming a warehouse.

Both Victoria and Richard said they were honored to care for these kids and that parents trusted them.
