Ponca City High School Title VI student Sasha Warrior was selected to the Oklahoma Arts Institute Film Workshop.

Ponca City High School Title VI student Sasha Warrior was selected to the Oklahoma Arts Institute Film Workshop. She was one of 15 students chosen out of 110 students in Oklahoma. She was able to learn the fundamentals of making a short film, and translate her artistic vision into storyboarding, shooting, and editing her own short film. This honor followed a recent rise to popularity after a painted ceiling tile project at East Jr. High last spring. Milo freehanded a tile honoring Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women that went viral on Facebook. Theresa Sacket, former PCPS Teacher and owner of Sacket Gallery, saw Milo’s potential and began giving art lessons with the talented student each week. As more and more people asked for the print, Sacket decided to give Milo a platform and sell prints of her famous tile in the gallery. In addition to Milo’s recent adventures, she also won First Place in the 2023 PonCon Graphic Artist competition last fall. To see Milo’s beautiful art, visit Sacket Gallery at 719 E. Hartford.
