Sam’s Club is celebrating its 40th birthday and sharing a present for first-time members.

For a limited time, a standard membership will be just $10 and “plus” memberships will offer additional perks such as free shipping for $70.

Typical prices for membership are between $50 and $110.

Stores originally opened on April 7, 1983, in Midwest City, Okla. as an experiment launched by Walmart founder Sam Walton. Over the last four decades, Sam’s Club has grown with nearly 600 locations.

A few more celebratory perks include a free sweet treat and a free fountain drink, a limited-time café item and special merchandise with an 80s logo style.
