Required Dicamba Application Training Program and CEU Course at Blackwell Fairgrounds Expo Center This Month

EPA announced in November 2018 that they would be extending the registration of over-the-top use of dicamba (Xtendimax, Engenia, FeXapan) in Xtend cotton and soybean (dicamba-tolerant) for two years. With that, there were some things that stayed the same and some things that changed for the 2023 crop year. First, Xtendimax, Engenia, and FeXapan will remain Restricted Use Herbicides and will continue to follow the record keeping requirements that were put in place in 2017.
If you will be purchasing or applying these Restricted Use Herbicides this coming spring you are required to complete a training. Even if you attended a dicamba training last year you will have to attend the new training this year, as changes to label instructions have been made. Only certified applicators may purchase and apply these products. Applicators operating under the supervision of a certified applicator may NOT purchase or apply these products.
Thursday, March 30, 2023 starting promptly at 12:00p.m. Kay County OSU Extension offices will be hosting a training at the Blackwell Expo Center, in Blackwell, OK. Helena Agri-Enterprises. LLC. of Blackwell has graciously offered to sponsor the lunch and program. Lunch will be served at 11:30a.m. In addition to the required dicamba application training, there attendees will receive a total of 1 CEUs for Private and Commercial Ag Applicators Pending ODAFF approval. We need you to RSVP by Thursday, March 23, 2023 so there is enough educational material, and an accurate meal count.
There will also be an opportunity to attend a Zoom Broadcast Dicamba Training on Wednesday, March 29, at the Kay County OSU Extension Office in Newkirk from Noon-1:00 p.m.
