Reception Monday for outgoing City Commissioners

Monday’s City Commission will start with a reception honoring outgoing City Commissioners Steve Hermann and Mark Macy.

The reception will begin in the Commission Chamber on the second floor of City Hall, 516 East Grand Ave., at 5 p.m.

The first items of business when the meeting convenes at 5:30 p.m. will be a presentation of medals to Hermann and Macy. Two new commissioners, Ryan Austin and Nancy Rathbun, will take their oaths of office.

In new business, commissioners will consider and vote on a resolution of support for a task force initiated to develop alternative sources of revenue for Oklahoma municipalities.

The commission also will consider and vote on a $166,864 purchase of SCUBA gear for the Ponca City Fire Department and authorize the Fire Chief to proceed with the purchase from Northern Oklahoma Safety and Industry.

The final agenda item is for the commission to consider and vote on authorization to advertise for bids for a concrete reconstruction project on Meadow Lane from Fairway Place to Queens Avenue.

Following the city commission meeting, the Ponca City Utility Trust will meet to consider and vote on a resolution to participate in the Municipal Electric Systems of Oklahoma’s mutual aid agreement.
