Ponca City woman runs over herself

A woman forgot to put her van in park and accidentally ran over herself at Bintz Pharmacy this morning.

Police officials said the van rolled over Alice Mires, 67 left leg.

Mires told emergency responders that she had gotten into the driver’s seat, started the van and put it in reverse.

Then she realized she needed to go back into the pharmacy and exited the van forgetting to put it in park.

As she exited the van she fell and that’s when the driver’s side front tire rolled over her leg.

A Bintz Pharmacy employee called in the report and an ambulance transported Mires to Ponca City Medical Center, where she was flown to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

The van sustained minor damage and was found backed into a space about five parking places to the east of where it was originally parked.

Also, the van only made slight contact with Bintz Pharmacy, causing minimal damage.
