Ponca City schools announce administrative changes

The Ponca City Public School district announces administrative changes for the 2019-20 school year.

Jennifer Dye – Principal at Union Elementary
Jennifer Dye has been selected as the new principal at Union Elementary, replacing Dr. Trina Resler, who accepted a position in Hawaii.

“I am very excited to be back at Union in a leadership role,” Dye said. “I am looking forward to building relationships with students, staff and families. I want each of our students to meet their fullest potential.”

Dye has been an educator in Ponca City for 10 years. She taught Prekindergarten at Union for 16 years, served as an Instructional Coach at Liberty for two years, and was an Assistant Principal at West Middle School for two years.  Dye has a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma.

Tina Fisher – Principal at Washington Prekindergarten Center
Tina Fisher has been named the new Principal at the Washington Prekindergarten Center. She is replacing Barbara Davis, who retired this year.

“I am really excited to be able to work with incredibly passionate and professional staff at Washington,” Fisher said. “Our students in Ponca City have a unique opportunity to participate in a program with their specific needs in mind. I’m looking forward to a fantastic school year at Washington Prek Center ‘Where Learning Begins’!”

Fisher  has been working for Ponca City Schools for 13 years. She started teaching at Liberty Elementary School in 2006, where she taught third grade for three years. She became an Instructional Coach for the district and worked with teachers at Lincoln and Trout Elementary schools for the next two years. In 2011, she became the school counselor and Instructional Coach at Woodlands Elementary where she has been for the last eight years. She received a Bachelor in Early Childhood from OSU. She also earned a Master in Guidance Counseling, Master in School Counseling, and a Master in Educational Administration all from NWOSU, Alva, Oklahoma.

Stacey Sattre – Principal at West Middle School
The new Principal at West Middle School is Stacey Sattre. She is replacing Trenton Murner.

“I am so thankful and blessed to be named the new Lead Principal for West Middle School,” Sattre said. “I am truly looking forward to this opportunity to work alongside the amazing staff, students and parents at West.”

Sattre has been in the district since 2006. She has been the Assistant Principal at East Middle School for the last two years. Prior to that, she taught at Union Elementary for nine years, served as Instructional Coach at Garfield Elementary for two years, and was third grade District PLC Coordinator for two years.

Sattre received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from OSU. She also earned a Master in Curriculum and Instruction and a second Master in Educational Leadership, both from the American College of Education in Indianapolis, Indiana.

 

Cathy Bible – Assistant Principal at West Middle School

Cathy Bible has been hired as the new Assistant Principal at West Middle School, replacing Jennifer Dye. Bible said, “I am looking forward to serving the students, staff, and community of Ponca City in my role at West Middle School. My philosophy on education is the 3 R’s: Relationship, Relevance and Rigor. Once a student knows you care, you can show the relevance of the material and then work toward helping students use critical thinking skills so deeper learning can take place. It’s a great day to be a Wildcat!”

Bible earned a Bachelor of Science Education with emphasis in biology from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She also earned a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Southern Nazarene University. She has served 16 years in education with 11 years teaching at Fayetteville, Ark., Hulbert, and Inola, Okla. She also served five years as Assistant Principal at Coweta High School in Coweta, Okla.

Keith Crocker – Assistant Principal at East Middle School
Keith Crocker will be the new Assistant Principal at East Middle School, replacing Stacey Sattre. Crocker has been serving as Assistant Band Director for the District for the last four years. “As a teacher, I always hoped most of my accomplishments revolved around students’ growth and success. As an administrator, I look to help provide the tools and atmosphere necessary in each classroom or activity to help teachers and students reach our highest collective potential,” Crocker said.

Crocker taught for 11 years at Garber Public Schools as Director of Music/Bands. He was a graduate assistant for OSU from 2002-2004. He received his Bachelor and Master Degree in Music from OSU and a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership from East Central University in Ada, Okla.
