Ponca City Police Officers Uniforms Changing

Uniforms that some of our Police Officers are wearing have recently changed.

Patrol officers now have the option to use an external vest that allows a bulletproof vest to be inserted and gear strapped to the outside, relieving pressure on the hips and back.

A loaded duty belt can weigh quite a bit, and can be uncomfortable during a lengthy shift. So several ergonomic analyses have suggest that load-bearing “carrier” vests may have an advantage over duty belts.
