Ponca City Police Officers Investigating Robbery at Walmart

Ponca City Now - September 19, 2023 4:13 pm

On the morning of September 19th, Ponca City Police Officers responded to Walmart at 1101 E. Prospect in response to a reported robbery.  Multiple witnesses observed two males, as seen in the attached photographs, commit a robbery at the Walmart Money Services Center in the front of the store.  According to witnesses, one of the subjects passed a note to a cashier which stated he had a gun and he demanded money from the Money Services register.  The two male subjects ran from the store after taking cash from the cashier and were last seen running to the north, away from Walmart.

Multiple Law Enforcement agencies responded to the scene and established a perimeter, utilized K9 Officers and deployed Drones in an effort to locate the suspects, but at this time, they remain at large.  Although we understand the concern of local citizens, we do not have reason to believe that anyone is in danger at this time.  This is an active and ongoing investigation and the safety of our community will always be our greatest concern.

The Ponca City Police Department is asking for any witnesses, or anyone with information pertaining to this case or the identity of the suspects, to contact the Ponca City Police Department.  You can remain anonymous by contacting Crime Stoppers at 580.762.5100.  You may be eligible for a reward if you provide information that leads to the arrest of the individuals responsible.  If the suspects are seen or located, please do not approach them and contact Law Enforcement immediately.

We appreciate the efforts of all involved Law Enforcement Agencies who are assisting with this investigation.  Those agencies include the Kay County Sheriff’s Office, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, District 8 Task Force and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
