Ponca City police officer charged with domestic assault and battery

Ponca City Police Officer Rock Minghetti was charged Monday with domestic assault and battery, according to public records on On Demand Court Records.

District Attorney Brian Hermanson was not immediately available for a statement.

A statement issued by Police Chief Bohon states:

The Ponca City Police Department did receive information concerning Officer Rock Minghetti. Officer Minghetti has been administratively suspended with pay due to the seriousness of the allegations. We have conducted a criminal investigation and submitted the information to the District Attorney for consideration. Questions concerning this investigation will need to be directed to the District Attorney’s Office. The Ponca City Police Department will continue to conduct an administrative investigation. Officer Minghetti will remain on administrative suspension until such time that the investigation is completed and/or the appropriate due process steps have been taken. There are certain legal employment rights that must be respected, and a process that must be followed to investigate this type of allegation properly. We take our sworn duty to this community very seriously and we will thoroughly investigate these and all allegations, and deal with the outcome appropriately.
