About 7 a.m. Saturday, Danny R. Martin, 52, was injured in a vehicle-pedestrian accident in the 900 block of North Osage Street in Ponca City.

Ponca City Police report Martin had stopped his vehicle in the southbound lane to scrape frost from his windows when he and his vehicle were struck.

Danny P. Fox, 42, was traveling northbound on Osage, police reported, when he crossed the center line of the roadway for an unknown reason and struck Martin and his vehicle.

Officers said Martin was thrown onto the hood of Fox’s vehicle and traveled some distance before falling to the roadway.

A 911 call reported  the accident and police and Ponca City EMS responded. Martin was transported by ambulance to AllianceHealth Ponca City and then flown to St. Francis in Tulsa with life-threatening injuries. Martin remains hospitalized in Tulsa and is in stable condition, police report.

Fox’s vehicle was seized. The investigation is continuing.
