Ponca City Police were informed about 6:30 p.m.  Tuesday of a Facebook post made by a Ponca City High School student expressing her dissatisfaction with the way an issue had been handled at school.

A 17-year-old male student posted a picture of a gun in the comment section of the original post suggesting violent resolution for handling the situation. The male student and his parents were contacted by an officer and the gun pictured in the post was identified as a bb gun.

The 17-year-old male was arrested at his home Wednesday afternoon and charged with terroristic threats.

On Wednesday morning, the Police began an investigation involving another Facebook post. A 15-year-old male was pictured holding a gun. On this picture was an inscription referring to an upcoming school shooting.

Through the investigation, Police learned that this picture was actually taken months ago and he had posted it himself on Snap Chat shortly after it was taken. A fellow student, also 15 years old, saved the Snap Chat picture along with the inscription and re-posted it Wednesday on his own Facebook page.

Both 15-year-olds were arrested and charged with terroristic threats.

All three juvenile males were released to their parents/guardians. The case information will be submitted to the District Attorney’s Office and the Office of Juvenile Affairs, the State agency that handles felony offenders under the age of 18.
