The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a personal injury collision occurred about 8:17 p.m. Saturday on SH99 about 0.1 miles south of US64, which is approximately 4 miles north of Hallett, OK in Pawnee County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 2015 Ford F-350 pickup driven by Neena Virginia Jones (SIC), 21, of Ponca City, OK. Jones was not injured.

The second vehicle involved was a 2007 Honda Odyssey van driven by Marjorie Lee Mendicki (SIC), 68, of Edmond, OK. Mendicki was transported by ambulance to St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa in stable condition with trunk internal injuries.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated Jones’ vehicle was northbound on SH99, Mendicki’s vehicle was southbound on SH99. Jones attempted to turn left, failed to yield to oncoming traffic, and struck Mendicki’s vehicle head on. Seatbelts were equipped and in use. A front airbag deployed in Gilstrap’s vehicle. The report notes that the condition of both drivers was apparently normal. The cause of the collision is attributed to a failure to yield.
