The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a personal injury collision occurred about 12:58 a.m. Saturday on 52nd West Avenue, about half a mile south of Rock School Road, which is 3 miles north of Tulsa, in Osage County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 2012 Yamaha motorcycle driven by Wiley Sears, Jr., 48, of Skiatook, OK. Sears was transported by EMSA to St. Johns hospital in Tulsa and admitted in stable condition with trunk internal, head, and arm injuries.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated Sears’ vehicle was traveling on 52nd West Avenue when the driver lost control in heavy rain, striking a guard rail. The report notes that a helmet was not in use. The roadways was a two lane asphalt road and was wet due to raining weather conditions. The cause of the collision and condition of the driver are both reported as driving under the influence.
